For Our Invisalign Patients

A simple change often leads to PERFECT ALIGNMENT.

Invisalign

Does the thought of wearing metal braces keep you from seeking orthodontic treatment? You deserve to experience all the personal, social, and oral health benefits of properly aligned teeth. With Invisalign, you can straighten your teeth without compromising your image.

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a series of custom, acrylic aligners that gradually reposition teeth. The aligners are created at a dental laboratory based on your unique needs. Each week, you’ll throw out the old aligner and "graduate" to the next one in the series. The aligners are transparent and virtually impossible to detect. With Invisalign, the average treatment time is 12 to 18 months.

Is Invisalign right for me?
Adults with overcrowded teeth, widely spaced teeth, and bite problems are generally candidates for Invisalign. Dr. Wilmore will evaluate your teeth and discuss your goals and concerns to determine the right orthodontic treatment in your case.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?
The main advantage is cosmetic. Invisalign provides a virtually undetectable teeth-straightening option for adults who don't want to wear metal braces. Other benefits include:

  • Comfort. Invisalign won’t cause the mouth abrasions associated with traditional wire-and-bracket braces.
  • Flexibility. The clear aligners are removable, so you can take them out to eat, brush, floss, or for special occasions.
  • Health. Straight teeth contribute to overall gum health, improved chewing and speech, easier cleanings, and a more comfortable bite.

Are there any disadvantages to Invisalign?
For the best results, the aligners need to be worn about 22 hours a day, so the ideal patient must be self-disciplined. Taking them out for hours at a time will significantly lengthen treatment time.
